Now fold round 17 outwards achieve the desired effects as the image on the right.

When crocheting in the round with double crochet (dc), you slip stitch to join the round and chain 3 to begin the next one.
The slip stitch closes the circle neatly, and the chain 3 acts as a substitute for the first dc, giving the round the right height.
Starting with a dc instead of a chain 3 can leave a gap or uneven edge.

Fasten it n off and leave a tail for sewing to head. Pinch the top of round 4 to make the shape.
Sew the beak in between rounds 15-17.
Toes X3
R1. 6 sc in a magic ring. (6 sts)
R2. inc in each st around (12 sts)
R3. dec x6 (6 sts)
Fasten off the first 2 toes, leave a tail. Do not fasten off the 3rd toe (you’ll continue from here).
R4. (join toes):
• 2 sc, insert hook into the 3rd st (toe 1) and 1st st (toe 2) and do a sc.
• 2 sc, insert hook the 3rd st (toe 2) and 1st st (toe 3) and do a sc.
• 4 sc, insert hook into the 6th st (toe 3) and 4th st (toe 2) and do a sc.
• 1 sc, insert hook into the 6th st (toe 2) and 4th st (toe 1) and do a sc.
• 2 sc to finish
Tip: place a stitch marker at the start of this round so you know where the round begins.
Foot
Three toes now from one foot. Make two feet.
R5. 7 dec (7 stitches)
R6. 7 sc
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.
Once done. Sew the feet to the front of the basket.


Feathers
In between round 1&2, insert the hook and chain 4.
On the second chain from the hook, sc 1. Then do 2 sc.
Slst into the next stitch and chain 6, sc 1. Followed by 5 sc.
Slst into the next stitch and chain 4. On the second chain from the hook, sc 1 followed by 2 sc, slst and fasten off.
Sew in the tails.
Flowers X3
R1. (with yellow yarn)
1. Make a magic ring (or chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring).
2. Work 10 single crochets (sc) into the ring.
3. Join to the first single crochet with a slip stitch (slst) to close the round.
R2. (petals): (with each petal color)
1. Chain 3.
2. In the next stitch, make 5 bobble stitches (BO) yarn over, insert hook, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.Repeat this 5 times in the same stitch until you have 6 loops on your hook, then yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook to complete the bobble.
3. Make a slip stitch in the next stitch to secure the petal.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until you have 5 petals total.
Slst, FO.

Leaf X4
Use a small hook for a delicate look or a smaller yarn.
Chain 6.
On the second chain from the hook:
sc, hdc, 2dc, hdc, sc.
Now work on the other side:
sc, hdc, 2dc, hdc, sc, slst fasten off.
Necklace
Chain 60. Tie a knot and leave a bit of yarn.
Wrap firmly around the neck as shown in pic 1.
Third layer (pic 2)
For the second layer use the left over yarn around the neck.

Assembling
• Step1: join the head to the body.
• Step 2: now sew the body into the basket.
• Step 3: sew in the hands on either sides.
• Step 4: sew all three flowers onto the head the flowers should be sewn next to each other.
• Placement of leaves explained using 24 hour clock format.
• Step 5: make 4 leaves. place the first leaf under the first flower on your left at 20:00.
• Step 6: place the second leaf on the second flower from your left. this time it should be sewn at 12:00.
• Step 7: place the third leaf on the third flower from your left side. both at 16:00 and 20:00.
